Scott Douglas Cards a Near Perfect Round to Win the Creatif Clerkenwell Classic

Scott Douglas of OE Electrics walked away from Clerkenwell Design Week as a champion after recording near-perfect round, leaving the rest of the field trailing in his wake.

After a close opening day that scores slowly fall towards the low teens, Scott, OE's Central and Northern England Area Account Manager, ascended the leaderboard with a remarkable round of seven that included five hole-in-ones.

With the overnight leader from Day One sat at a respectable five under par (-5) thirteen, it seemed like that would be the score to beat across all of Design Week. However, early on Wednesday morning the golfers began to tame 79 Clerkenwell Road and by lunch, the leader sat pretty at nine under par (-9).

The fight atop of the leaderboard continued in earnest - with many attendees carding similar scores - until Scott and his colleagues from OE took to the first tee.

The self-styled experts in power (OE Electrics manufacture power and data distribution points and provide the power units found in our Cubes) showed a remarkably deft touch, with Scott immediately impressing a field of onlookers.

Hole-in-one followed hole-in-one and soon, Scott was set to grab the Red Jacket and smash the course record in the process.

In front of the cameras, with the pressure on and the crowds following in his footsteps,  Scott sunk his fifth hole-in-one on the tricky par four sixth to move two shots clear of the field.

With a day of play left, many more challengers stood up to the plate but none were able to get close to his stupendous round of an eleven under par (-11) seven.

Speaking about his victory, Scott said: "CDW is a great week and companies such as yourself having activities of this kind make the event a little bit more fun, so thanks for having us and adding further to an excellently run event."

Along with getting his hands on the Clerkenwell Classic Trophy (pictured), Scott also received the £150 winner's purse. But instead of opting to use the prize money to fund a professional career, Scott, after hearing about our fundraising efforts, has very generously donated the cash to our chosen charity, Brake.

We'd like to thank Scott for that fantastic gesture and also thank everyone who picked up a putter during Clerkenwell Design Week. You're all winners in our eyes.

See you at the first tee during #CDW2020?
