To mark one year of fundraising in conjunction with Brake, the road safety charity, we're sending 'Team Ops' across to fly down Europe's fastest zip line... Nearly a year ago, we announced that we'd entered a charitable partnership with Brake, the road safety charity. Twelve months in and we've abseiled, ran, baked and donated, all to help Brake and the fantastic work that they do to make Britain's roads safer. This time, we're sending ‘Team Ops’, Stuart and Louise, across to Penrhyn Quarry in North Wales to take on Velocity 2. Described as the closest experience to flying you can do; Velocity 2 is fast. In favourable conditions, those zipping down the 1.5km course can reach speeds in excess of 100mph – all while whizzing over a former Slate mine. As those who’ve experienced it before can attest, it’s not for the faint of heart! |
This challenge will be especially poignant. Not only because it marks twelve months since we began fundraising for Brake, but because is was Stuart who suggested that we enter said partnership in memory of his late brother, who was tragically killed in a road traffic accident at the age of 18. Together, the pair have set a fundraising target of £300 – a total they’ve already far surpassed thanks to your generosity. With your continued support, we’re sure we can double that!
