Creatif Kicks Off Charity Partnership With A Feat For The Fearless

Written by Creatif | 7 Nov 2018

Three members of Creatif’s team descended from the roof of the Manchester Velodrome to raise money for Brake, the road safety charity.

As part of our year-long fundraising partnership with Brake, a trio of Creatif employees (Liam Bowes, Timi Odeyemi and Steve Sawyer) headed across the Pennines to the home of British cycling, the National Cycling Centre in Manchester.

There, the group scaled the building, made their way across the roof of the Velodrome and abseiled back down to terra firma.

We’re pleased to report that everybody made it up and, importantly, back down safely. There were a few hair-raising moments, but, all-in-all, once the initial fear of looking down 100-plus feet to the floor below had passed, everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.

“It was a frightening but exhilarating experience,” Timi, Creatif’s Business Development Manager, said of the abseil.

“Once you get over the edge and get used to everything, you really get into the whole experience and begin to enjoy it.”

By abseiling down the centre of the Manchester Velodrome, the Creatif trio have managed to far exceed their initial fundraising target.

At the time of print, a total of over £600 had been raised, a figure that’s still rising.

We’ll be partaking in further fundraising activities on behalf of Brake in the coming months, so keep your eyes peeled for further information.
